101 uses for WinCounter
(Well...not quite 101 yet, but we're working on it!)
There are many different uses for WinCounter. How you put it to use depends a
lot on the type of sensor or switch you use to trigger it.
We have started making a list of all the possible uses for WinCounter. It
will probably go on for ever. Some of these uses are serious applications and others are a
light-hearted look at the possibilities.
Here's the list:
- Using a sensor or a door switch, count the customers that come and go from your store.
- Place a sensor or pushbutton switch at the entrance to your workplace and monitor the arrival times of staff.
- If you have an advertising display at a remote location, use WinCounter to
monitor visitors.
- Use WinCounter to measure the people coming and going from a show home.
- If you have a warehouse that doesn't require counter staff all the time,
use WinCounter as an entry alerter and get the added benefit of recording
people coming and going from your warehouse.
- In many cases you can attach WinCounter to your existing door minder and
get the added advantage of graphs and reports on people coming and going.
- WinCounter can count people visiting your stand at a trade show.
- With a switch attached use WinCounter to conduct simple yes/no surveys
from your customers. e.g. press this button for 'yes' and this button for 'no'
- Attach WinCounter to your existing doorbell to keep track of the times when the doorbell was pressed.
- Use WinCounter as your doorbell. Attach a simple pushbutton switch to WinCounter and set up the sounds in the software to be your doorbell.
- With a cable or a cordless link to a sensor or door switch, you can monitor an entrance while you are working at your computer.
- Attach a sensor across your driveway and monitor the arrival times of guests.
- Use a floor mat switch to monitor the use of a staircase.
- Use it as a stress monitor. Mount a push button (preferably a big red one) on your desk. If you become frustrated, punch the button. If the sound is set to some humorous random sound, it may help lighten the moment, plus you can go back and analyse the days and times that you get the most stressed out.
- Set WinCounter up in your office and use it to keep track of the time you spend at work.
- Use with a sensor to count sheep or other livestock as the move through a gate.
- With the help of a suitable sensor, WinCounter can count items as they come off a production line.
- Factory workers can be issued with a wireless key chain switch to press each time they have finished a job. The resulting database will contain valuable data about workflow.
- Attach it to a forecourt sensor at a Service Station and monitor the traffic flow in and out.
- Sales staff can use a key chain switch or a pushbutton at the checkout to log whenever a customer takes advantage of a certain promotion.
